The Western Morning News is a regional daily newspaper serving Devon, Cornwall, West Somerset and West Dorset.


Published six days a week, Monday to Saturday, it aims to provide readers with all the regional, national and international news they need.


The head office is based at Plymouth but reporters are based across the Westcountry. They also have a London Editor, Matt Chorley, who covers stories from the capital, which are of particular interest to the Westcountry.

The Western Morning News is politically independent but campaigns strongly on issues that affect the people of the Westcountry. In 2005 it was judged Newspaper of the Year at the Regional Press Awards.


Past campaigns have included the Heart of Devon Appeal launched in the aftermath of the Foot and Mouth Epidemic. Recent campaigns have included Buy Local, Council Tax Debate & the No Live Horse Export Campaign.
