A 12-YEAR-OLD cyclist has been rushed to hospital following a crash with a car in Cornwall.

The boy was riding his bicycle with his sister in St Minver, Wadebridge, at 6.30pm yesterday when the collision with the white Skoda took place.

The boy, who was riding his bike around the recycling centre on Trewint Road, suffered a serious fracture to his right leg and a head injury.

He was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he is to undergo a further scan this morning.

A police spokesman said the boy's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police this morning said they are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or seen the two children on bikes that evening to contact them on 08452 777444 quote reference log number 777 21/10/09.
