Edyvean still on a mission

ST AUSTELL all rounder George Edyvean has already won back the Cornwall Centre trials championship from Bodmin's Ross Hancock, but he will still be striving to win the final round of the series when they clash in the West Cornwall event at Gulval tomorrow, writes Mick Perry.

After last weekend's non events, most experts in the Duchy are expected to support the three-lap, 18-section contest in Trevaylor Woods (11am). They include Gareth Andrew, Robin, Ian and Shaun Martin, Darren James, Jason Lawer and Melroy Youlton, Lawer's son, Alex and Oliver will be competing in the youth classes. The event is also open to sidecars.

The trial in the South West Centre is being staged by the Moretonhamstead club at Cossicks Cross (11am) off the Moreton to Exeter road. And with the cancellation of From's event in the Wessex Centre, the Moreton meeting is expected to attract South West area champion Ricky Wiggins, Ben Bramwell, Gary Marshman and Nick and Jimmy Baker in the expert class, and Martin Strang, Mike Hann and Hedley Ashford in the veteran classes.

The Exmoor club, which is not affiliated to the parent South West Centre, stages an enduro tomorrow at Fullbrook Farm near Barnstaple. For the precise location patrons should contact Mr Tucker on 01598 710471.
