Tackling Yeovil with Chris Spittles
Town suddenly possess strength in depth in almost every position, and that is a situation that every manager would like to be in.
It is up front that Skiverton will notice the biggest difference, as next week he could have five players competing for two places.
At various stages of the season so far, Town have been unable to call on the services of Dean Bowditch, Sam Williams, Jon Obika, Gavin Tomlin and Ryan Mason. But, for next Saturday's game at home to promotion-chasing Charlton Athletic, Skiverton is set to have the quintet all available at the same time for the very first time.
Bowditch and Tomlin both returned from injury as substitutes in the win over Southend United, while Williams should recover from a groin injury this week. And, with Mason and Obika both signed on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season, competition for a place in the Glovers' strikeforce is now very fierce.
"It's every manager's dream to have quality players like that available to you," said Skiverton. "We played Leeds a couple of weeks ago and they brought Gradel, Kandol and Kilkenny off their bench. I want to be able to do that and I now feel that I can make substitutions that change the game.
"With the lads that are coming back from injury, I think I'll have a few headaches next week, so that'll be interesting. This is what I wanted from the beginning of the season, and we've got competition in every position now.
"I've got virtually a full squad to pick from and I think I'll have a few unhappy players next week, but I can cope with that."
Mason has been in outstanding form playing just behind a lone striker in recent weeks, and was Town's man-of-the-match against Southend. He looks certain to retain his place in the starting line-up, with would leave the remaining quartet fighting over one position.
Obika has been deployed in a wide position already this season, and Bowditch and Tomlin were also handed wide roles when they came on on Saturday. This means that Skiverton will be able to keep his opponents guessing over the composition of his attack – and it's a similar story elsewhere in the team.
Terrell Forbes and Nathan Jones will both be back in first-team contention and putting pressure on Stefan Stam and Danny Hutchins for their places on Saturday.
Welsh midfielder Shaun MacDonald, sidelined last Saturday by a dead leg, is another who will be pushing for a return.
The only player that Skiverton can't call upon is long-term injury victim Aidan Downes, who is recovering from knee and shoulder problems. But, with everyone else fit and available, there should be some interstingly competitive training sessions at Huish Park this week.
